Celebrating Valentine’s Day with Intergenerational Connection at the Aster Downtown Senior Center

Mesa, AZ – February 2025 – Aster Aging, a leading nonprofit provider of programs and services for older adults in the East Valley, is hosting a first-of-its-kind intergenerational Valentine’s Day celebration at the Mesa Downtown Senior Center on February 12, 2025.

The event, called “Glamour Gala”, is being hosted in partnership with partners from across the community, including the Westwood High School Interact Club, Fellowship Square, and the Mesa West Rotary. The event aims to bring seniors together for an afternoon of fun and communal love joined by today’s youth, so that both generations can share in fun and learn from each other. Aster anticipates over 100 seniors in attendance.

“We look forward to the opportunity to bring this unique intergenerational experience to our participants,” Deborah Schaus, MSW, CEO of Aster Aging, said on Monday. “Seniors have a lifetime of wisdom, and there is an opportunity for them to share this with the youth, as well as for the youth to share their own perspective.”

“We are very excited to be a part of this event and working with Aster,” said Amyla Buckhannon, President of the Westwood High School Interact Club.
