A Matter of Balance

Have you ever felt uneasy about the possibility of falling? According to the CDC, nearly 50% of older adults report a fear of falling, yet most falls can be prevented. At Aster, we understand how essential it is to maintain confidence and safety as you age, which is why we’re proud to offer "A Matter of Balance: An Evidence-Based Falls Prevention Program."

This unique workshop is designed to help older adults build strength, enhance balance, and reduce their fear of falling. Through carefully curated exercises and activities, participants learn practical strategies to stay safe and independent in their daily lives. Facilitated in collaboration with A.T. Still University, this evidence-based program is delivered by experienced professionals dedicated to improving health outcomes for older adults. Best of all, the workshop is completely free and available at both Aster Senior Centers.

Why Participate in A Matter of Balance?

Fear of falling can limit your activities and reduce your quality of life. However, addressing this fear head-on can empower you to remain active and engaged. A Matter of Balance equips participants with:

  • Confidence-building techniques to overcome fear and anxiety related to falling.
  • Tips and resources to create a safer living environment.
  • Social connections with others who share similar concerns and goals.
